Course Overview:
This course is designed for individuals interested in developing competency-based learning resources in vocational education and training (VET). Participants will gain the skills to design, develop, and adapt competency standards, curricula, assessment tools, and learning materials. The course emphasizes the flexibility and adaptability required to create high-quality, industry-aligned learning resources for diverse learner contexts and emerging job roles.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Develop clear competency standards defining job role skills and knowledge.
  • Design a competency-based curriculum for specific competencies.
  • Create effective competency-based learning materials (CBLMs).
  • Analyze training needs and develop training packages tailored to industry demands.
  • Adapt learning resources for local, national, and global contexts.
  • Evaluate and improve training materials for relevance and effectiveness.
  • Develop competency standards for emerging job roles.
  • Create comprehensive facilitator guides for training delivery.

Prerequisites:

  • CBT&A Level 4 (NTVAQ/NSQF) in Training and Assessment
  • Familiarity with training and assessment methodologies
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not mandatory.
